Rotary Nomads?

Who are the Rotary Nomads? Interested in joining?

We are a member of Rotary International but instead of meeting face-to-face each week like more traditional clubs, we meet online using free, easy to use software. Our members do service work and enjoy fellowship with other members while travelling, or in the towns/cities they live in or at our frequent “club musters” at different locations around Australia. Our members come from a wide variety of home bases – many have RVs and travel frequently both in Australia and overseas. Several members are the partners of members in “traditional Rotary Clubs”. Owning an RV is not necessary to join the Rotary Nomads – if you are a community minded person who likes to lend a hand, the Rotary Nomads may be for you.

Want to attend a meeting to check us out?

We meet every Wednesday night at 7pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. You can connect using any computer, tablet or smartphone. Send an email to rotarynomads@gmail.com a few days beforehand and we’ll send you the easy instructions. If you just want to have a chat about the club, again send us an email and phone number and we will reply. Check us out on Facebook.

What do we do?

We are Rotarians and as such we are welcome to attend the weekly meetings of any Rotary Clubs throughout Australia.  We provide community service at home or in our travels and act as volunteers for other Rotary Clubs and service organisations. This community service might be provided by an individual Rotary Nomad or a group of Rotary Nomads.  Importantly, we have fun. We mix with, volunteer with, and socialise with Rotarians and community members from all walks of life!

We also partner with international clubs to help those much worse off than we are. Our latest international project is the Biogas for Nakuru project. We have teamed up with the Rotary Club of Nakuru in Kenya to apply for a global grant to install up to 240 biogas units in the rural area around Nakuru.

Our motto is: Helping Hands Across the Land!

Below are listed in a bit more detail just some of the things our club does:
